Andrew Jamieson’s Monumentum
(Immersive Experience)
MONUMENTUM is an upcoming immersive performance production that will redefine the boundaries of theatrical experience. It's not merely a play; it's an invitation to step into a meticulously crafted world where the lines between fiction and reality blur, challenging our perceptions and igniting a visceral connection with the narrative.
Imagine stepping into the heart of a "Media Circus"—the launch event for Lupus Nuda, a new record label created by the enigmatic art firm, Wolfsburg. The air crackles with anticipation, the music pulsates, and the energy of the crowd is palpable. But beneath the surface of this glamorous spectacle lies a darker, more intricate web of ambition, power, and deception.
As attendees navigate this hyperreal environment, they become active participants in a psychological thriller. They are no longer passive observers but explorers, investigators, and even co-conspirators in the drama. The story unfolds around them, across multiple interconnected spaces, each with its own unique atmosphere and sensory details.
MONUMENTUM draws upon Andrew Jamieson's "Strategies of Immersion," a theoretical framework developed through years of experimental work in immersive theatre. These strategies are not mere theatrical devices; they are the tools to unlock a new level of audience engagement.
Disorientation: The audience's sense of control is deliberately disrupted, plunging them into a world where they must question their surroundings.
Mirroring of Reality: Familiar social settings and interactions are subtly distorted, blurring the lines between performance and life.
Participation and Agency: Attendees are empowered to shape their own journey, making choices that influence the narrative and their connection to the characters.
Fragmentation: The story is presented in a non-linear and fragmented fashion, inviting the audience to piece together the puzzle of Wolfsburg's secrets.
Characters, inspired by archetypes and real-life figures, are both relatable and larger-than-life, reflecting the heightened reality of the "Media Circus." Their desires, flaws, and hidden agendas drive the narrative, drawing the audience deeper into their world.
The production's design is a crucial element of the immersive experience. The chosen Montreal art space, the WIP Gallery, with its unique spatial characteristics, is transformed into a multi-sensory labyrinth. Sound, scent, lighting, and visual elements are meticulously orchestrated to create a dynamic and unsettling atmosphere, further blurring the lines between art and reality.
MONUMENTUM is more than entertainment; it's an exploration of the human condition in a media-saturated age. It challenges us to confront the seductive power of artifice, the illusionary nature of control, and the complex interplay of truth and fiction. It's an invitation to question our own perceptions and engage with the world around us in a new and profound way.
This project represents a significant step in Andrew Jamieson's ongoing journey to push the boundaries of immersive storytelling. It's a culmination of his experiences in Montreal's underground art scene, his background in screenwriting, and his passion for creating transformative experiences that resonate on both a personal and social level.
Prepare to be immersed. Prepare to be challenged. Prepare to question everything you thought you knew.

Andrew Jamieson’s Sleazy
(TV Series - Dark Comedy)
From the mind of Andrew Jamieson comes Sleazy, a sharp black comedy poised for a three-season, 30-episode run. Prepare to delve into the darkly hilarious journey of Conor Blaine, a man who once held the world in the palm of his eight-year-old hand.
As a child, Conor Blaine was the most recognizable person on the planet. Now an adult, he leaves behind a stagnant acting career in Toronto and moves to Montreal to re-establish and radically redefine his fame on his own cynical terms.
Once the mischievous star of the immensely successful "Kill Santa" horror films, Conor's reign as the world's most famous kid ended with the critical and commercial disaster of "Caillou: The Movie." Now in his late 20s and deeply dissatisfied with his life in Toronto, Conor arrives in Montreal with a plan: to not just reclaim fame, but to twist and reshape it to his own darkly comedic vision.
Through a unique narrative lens, where Conor directly addresses the audience, Sleazy offers an evolved form of cinéma vérité. You won't just be a fly on the wall; you'll be privy to Conor's inner thoughts and sardonic observations as he manipulates the Montreal arts scene and exploits those around him in his relentless pursuit of notoriety.
Drawing inspiration from the narrative structure of F. Scott Fitzgerald's "This Side Of Paradise" (with Conor as the great-great grandson of Amory Blaine), and incorporating transmedia elements like in-universe social media and behind-the-scenes footage, Sleazy blurs the lines between fiction and reality.
Get ready for a black comedy that fearlessly explores ambition, betrayal, and the corrosive nature of fame through the eyes of a captivatingly flawed protagonist. Sleazy is the "Villain's Journey" you never knew you needed.
